Split Rock Falls, Fall 2020, Elizabethtown, Adirondacks, New York
Split Rock Falls is a short walk from Route 9, and one of the prettier falls in the Adirondack Park. When most streams are copper brown with the tannins common in the Adirondack forests, the water here is so clear and gives off an emerald green color when the light shines into its pools. The cascades are beautiful here in the Fall, and are really roaring in the Spring during the thaw. Be careful on the rocks around the falls during this time, as the trail and rocks can become very slippery when wet.
